What it is
Four sub-tabs: AI traffic (visits from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Copilot recorded by the optmz tag), AI fetches (AI bots reading pages, from server logs), Real questions and Conversations.
Everything here is marked Real and kept apart from the simulated weekly checks, so measured data is never mixed with estimates.
Why it matters for AI search
Simulated checks show what AI says; real data shows what it does for the business: whether AI tools send visitors, whether they convert, and which pages AI bots read on behalf of real users.
How to use it
Step by step, as in the video
- Visits from AI tools. AI traffic counts real visits from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Copilot, recorded by the optmz tag.
- Real badge. Real means recorded from the world, not from optmz's simulated weekly checks.
- Conversions. Conversions are AI visits that went on to an action you mark with the tag, such as a booking.
- By AI tool. See which AI tools send visitors and how well each converts, with sample sizes and ranges.
- Top landing pages. Top landing pages show where AI visitors arrive. Query strings are never recorded.
- AI fetches. AI fetches come from server logs: AI bots reading the client's pages for real users. Connect logs to see them.
- Real questions. Real questions collects what people actually asked before AI or search sent them to the site.
- Source labels. Each source is labelled with how it was measured, so real data is never mixed with guesses.
- Conversations. Conversations lists the pages real AI users reached, and which assistant sent them.
- Run now. A daily check works out the likely question and reply behind each page. Run now checks straight away.
Questions
How do I start collecting AI traffic?
Copy the optmz tag snippet from the client's Setup tab onto its site. Visits from AI tools are recorded from then on.
What does the tag record?
Query strings are never recorded. The privacy policy describes what the tag collects.
